Explanation of Listings
These listings are based on agreement by the Municipal Emergency Radio Coordinators (MERCs) in the Greater Vancouver area for use not only at VECTOR, but for the benefit of all local amateurs. In the event of a widespread emergency, the accuracy and availability of this list will directly impact the ability of amateur radio operators in the lower mainland to communicate with each other while ensuring that VECTOR or other amateurs do not accidently interfere with communications in adjacent municipal areas.

In the event of a City of Vancouver emergency, VECTOR Members are requested to tune in to the VE7RPT repeater at 146.940 MHz (negative 600 MHz offset). We request that a VECTOR member begin a list of check-ins in anticipation for an activation. A representative of the City of Vancouver Emergency Program will check-in at the earliest opportunity and will pass a situation report and a request for Amateur Radio assistance, if it is required.

Simplex Frequencies
These frequencies are generally secondary frequencies for operations, although some municipalities, such as a few on Vancouver Island, operate on simplex.

Check-in/Sit-Rep and Wide Use
Generally used by groups of municipalities, these are repeaters used by amateurs to check-in, monitor situation reports, and to keep them off the primary operations channel until requested. 
  • EOC station call signs are listed with brackets - Club repeater call signs are without brackets
  • The list includes some non-amateur frequencies of interest
  • The list is sorted by region, then city, then use.
